Five Fall Trends for Summer's 95 Degree Weather

Fashion magazines are already claiming its Fall, despite the the continued dreadful summer heat. Instead of taking a cue from the pages of In Style (the only thing we can afford is the magazine itself), take a more laid back approach. Below are Vicious Trollop's top five budget-friendly fall obsessions that still work for summer.

  1. Old Navy Pocket Tees, $10 - $14.50
They don't look like much online, but Old Navy's new slew of super affordable pocket tees are the perfect basic. Available in scoop or v neck, the tees hit below the hips and are super slouchy and comfortable. Be sure to check out the deep beige color called "Wise Owl" perfect for pairing with reds in the summer and then browns and oranges in the fall.
  2. OPI Matte Nail Polish, $8.50
Matte nail polish made its entrance in a big way, with lines from OPI (the Sephora edition and the drugstore variety) and Essie debuting this summer. We prefer OPI's line which offers punchy colors for summer (think shocking pink and white-out white) and a darker set for fall. We like "You Don't Know Jacques," a mute taupe, and "Lincoln Park After Dark," a deep burgandy given a new spin by the matte finish.
  3. Mossimo Odell Flats at Target, $12.99
These flats are no frills, but they offer the finishes of some of fall's sky high heels with all the comforts of Converse. Available in a metallic pewter, a muted and patent black, and a leopard print, the ballet flats offer great neutral backdrops to your summer or fall favorites. If you're shopping online, the even come in a few more bright, summer friendly colors - red patent, white, and a shimmery gold.
  4. Hollywood Intuition Purple Tote at Target, $29.99
The priciest item on our list, this purple tote from Target's Hollywood Intuition line will fit everything you need and then some. The roomy bag features bold zippers and is a great, functional piece, perfect for the back to work/school season and for your last trips to the beach.
  5. Bumble and Bumble, Tonic Lotion, $18
Most Bumble and Bumble products rock, but the tonic is one of the best. The lotion, which can be used on dry or wet hair, serves as a protective, a detangler, and a lubricant for all hair types. Perfect for combatting post-pool hair or for protection against fall's dryer air.
